As the March holidays beckon, parents wondering just what to do with the kids need to look no further! Here are 10 suggestions on how to spend it meaningfully with your kids and expend their energy, so they’ll drift off quickly to sleep at night, and you can have your quiet time back too. 

You don’t have to stress about budget too – we’ve got that covered. In this article, you’ll find activities that you can enjoy with your kids during the March School Holidays… in the $30, $50, $100 ranges!

Outdoor Activities Under $30

1. Explore East Coast Park By Bike

This is a great way to explore the long stretches of beach at East Coast Park. Rentals for all kinds of bicycles start from $6 per hour. Even if your child doesn’t know how to ride a bicycle yet, you can always rent quad bikes from $20, so you can ride along as a family, take in the sights as you chat the day away.

2. Breeze Through The City On A Mini Segway Tour

Mini segway tours are great for checking out city sights and not having to go on foot. Tours start from $25 and up at O-Ride Singapore Mini Segway Tours, and kids aged 5 and up can do this tour on mobility devices like electric unicyles, hoverboards or mini segways.

3. Take The Luge For A Hit Of Adrenaline

The Luge remains one of the biggest attractions off the Singapore mainland that adults and kids can do together, even after 15 years here! Head down to Sentosa if you’d like to check it out at Skyline Luge Sentosa at 1 Imbiah Road.

Kids can ride on their own or double up with a parent so they feel a little more secure and have fun at the same time. Prices start from $25 per child. 

Outdoor Activities Under $50

4. Get Some Exercise Done With Inline Skating Classes

If you’d like your kids to try out some new experiences this holiday, consider inline skating classes at Exis which go from $40 for 2 trial lessons at East Coast Park.

If you’re a pro at inline skating and want to teach your kids yourself, rental of inline skates go from $8 per hour at Skateline at Bishan Park, and $10 per hour at Inlinex at Ang Mo Kio.

5. Visit Farms For A ‘Countryside’ Experience

For a more countryside experience, bringing these city kids to farms would surely widen their perspective of the world they live in, even on tiny Singapore. Popular farms include Bollywood Veggies which is a vegetable farm and has a farm-to-table bistro for great food, and Hay Dairies for the experience of feeding goats and trying goat milk. Morning educational group tours start from $8 per person (excluding GST) for groups of 10.

Other farms include the modern kelong, the Smith Marine Floating Restaurant & Fish Farm to learn about rearing fish, the Sundowner, an urban farm and lounge on top of a conservation shophouse in Siglap, where you can learn about organic farming, bees and even watch honey harvesting and the Jurong Frog Farm where kids can touch, feed and even catch frogs!

Outdoor Activities Under $100

6. Cruise Through Sentosa At 60km/h Via Zipline

If you’re up for some adrenaline pumping fun, head to MegaZip to zipline down a 450m stretch on Sentosa, cruising at 60 kilometres per hour. The zipline is suspended 75m from the ground and you’d be ziplining above the magnificent treetops right down to Siloso Beach. Kids under 30kg can ride tandem with a parent or friend too. Prices start at $55 per person.

7. Go For A Bike Trip At Pulau Ubin

For activities off the mainland, you could explore Pulau Ubin and cycle your way through on the Ubin Bike Trail. At $65 per child, this tour is a varied riding experience as the bicycles can be ridden on and offroad. It is certainly a wonderful way to experience and explore scenic spots and historical landmarks.

8. Test Your Family’s Teamwork By Kayaking Through The Mangrove

If you’d like a more water-based activity on Pulau Ubin, try Mangrove Kayaking.  It is an immersive way to learn about wildlife and the mangrove ecosystem, and also about teamwork when paddling together. Your child just needs to be at least 7 years of age to learn the kayaking basics and paddle with you through the mangrove swamp. Prices start at $98 per child with Adventures Network.

Outdoor Activities Above $100

9. Travel Around Singapore In A Vintage Sidecar

Travel around in Singapore in vintage style with sidecars at Singapore Sidecars! Kids aged 10 and up can ride along and you can also use your Singapore rediscovers vouchers here. Each tour costs $160 per person for 60 minutes. And don’t worry, all you have to do is relax in the sidecar whilst being driven around by a fully trained scooter driver. Kids under 10 can ride along in a support Jeep if required!
